The California Consumer Privacy Act 2018

This recently passed new law is expected to significantly affect the rights of consumers and the responsibilities of business in California.  The new law applies to natural persons who are California residents.

The new law allows consumers to find out what personal information a business maintains on them. Consumers may opt out of providing certain information and in some cases to request deletion of personal information.

The new law generally only applies to medium and larger businesses.
